Libery ski resort
Remarks: Tree of Peace lodge
Description: Deadline for registration AND online payments: 1/17/20
Depart: Fri 1/31 5pm sharp (be at CoF by 4:30)
Return: Sun 2/2 Noon
EVERY Scout needs to arrive to CoF WITH THEIR SKI EQUIPMENT (skis, boots, poles)… Cost per Scout or Scouter for lodging and ski lift ticket is $190. In addition, Ski helmets are MANDATORY for this event – if your Scout or Scouter needs one the Troop WILL be reserving these from Liberty ski resort, the cost is an additional $15/day.
For those who need to rent ski equipment: Troop 158 is NOT RESERVING skis, boots, nor poles for Scouts or Scouters – this is the responsibility of each family whose Scout/Scouter plans to attend. We highly recommend that you take action in the next few days to reserve your Scout’s ski equipment if they plan to attend. Ski rentals typically sell-out between Martin Luther King holiday weekend and President’s Day holiday weekend.
Troop 158 has been in touch with Sun & Ski Sports, 14130 Sullyfield Circle, Chantilly (703) 631-7880 for rental equipment pricing and availability. Sun & Ski Sports charges $30 per day for one set of skis, boots, and poles with no additional charge for picking up your equipment the day prior to your rental and returning it the following day. In other words, if you acted soon enough and took your Scout to Sun & Ski Sports (or wherever you choose to rent from) and had them fit your Scout for boots, skis, and poles, then paid the $30 rental fee to hold his equipment, you can pick it up Friday afternoon January 31 for the ski trip and return it February 2 before Sun & Ski Sports closes at 5:00pm. We HIGHLY DISCOURAGE you from borrowing ski equipment from a family whose child is close in size/stature to your Scout unless you take the equipment to a ski rental store to have them check the boots for proper fit and the tension release on the ski bindings.
