Description: If you like biking and you liked the backpacking campout, why not combine them in this fun and adventurous campout? This biking campout will have the scouts bike between campsites. While the mileage sounds like a lot (>30), it’s very feasible when you’re going downhill and at an easy pace. There are water/restroom stops every 2-3 miles and lots of historic sites to see. Note: The first location will be a 2-hour drive from COF at 15 Mile Creek Campground, Little Orleans, MD; Second night at McCoys Ferry Campground, Mc Coys Ferry Road, Clear Spring, MD and the pickup location will be closer to 1 hour and 15 minutes away at McCoys Ferry or C&O canal Dam # 5 Clear Spring, MD. Due to needing to transport bikes as well, we may need more parents offering to carpool/transport than on a traditional campout. More details to come.
Cost will be $22 per scout or adult non-leader – Online store will be set up shortly.
Registration is limited to the first 32 attendees.
Please register by April 28 so we can arrange transportation for scouts and bikes.
