Description: We are going to do a BSA Winter Camp at the Pipsico Scout Reservation (near Williamsburg, VA). It is held over the long Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Weekend; it is a three-day camp specifically designed to provide a great opportunity for Scouts to hone their cold weather camping skills, complete advancement requirements, earn merit badges (some of which are not typically offered at summer camps), and have lots of fun!!
Just like a Summer Camp, all meals will be provided and served within the Dining Hall. Highlights from the event include:
1. Over 40 Merit Badge Offerings (Including 5 Eagle Required)
2. SM/ ASM Specific Training plus IOLS Training
3. Red Cross Wilderness First Aid Certification (Need to be CPR current to take)
4. Flag Retirement Ceremony
5. Catholic and Non-denominational Church Services
Key Details:
– Dates: 12-15 January 2024
Depart Friday, 12 January 2024 around 4 pm, Return Monday, 16 January 2024 around 3 pm
– Cost: $100 per scout (Non-refundable).
– Registration is limited for the camp, so we will need your decision no later than 29 September 2023.
– If space is still available after the troop initially signs up, the price will go up by $20.

These costs are all-inclusive except for money to spend at the camp store and during travel to and from the camp. (The only additional activity at camp that cost money is the Wilderness First Aid Certification for about ~$30.
Please consider being a parent chaperone for the camp. It’s a lot of fun and a great way to get away from the craziness of workhome for a while.
